Scholarships for the Hockey Career Conference Are Available
SMWW will award a limited amount of full and partial scholarships for each SMWW Career Conference. You must be 18 years or older to be considered. If interested, fill out an application, submit your resume, and a one-page letter explaining why you should receive a scholarship to [email protected].
Scholarships do not include lodging or airfare. Those who have completed an SMWW training program will be given preference.

I took the Hockey GM and Scouting Course iand it taught me the ins and outs of hockey as well as what to look for in a player. I started scouting in the North American 3 Hockey League for 5 years, the NAHL for 3 years and just hired on with the Madison Capitols in the United States Hockey League. Through the learnings of the course and connections I’ve made along the way, I wouldn’t be where I am today without SMWW. Also, I attended the NHL Draft which was a great networking event and I had the opportunity to share my progress and goals with Dr. Lashbrook.

This year’s conference in Vancouver was an eye-opening for me. It was great to listen to the different guest speakers sharing their experiences leading up to their career. This year’s conference was well organized and amazing. From the moment I stepped through the door at 7 am until the finish of the draft, I was amazed. All the featured guest speakers were very informative and impressive. The biggest and best surprise was seeing the Cup in the flesh!!
