Al Unser Jr.™
Al Unser Jr.™ was born to race. Son of Al Unser Sr. Al Jr.™ knew he had big shoes to fill and he's been nothing short of amazing in doing so. Al Unser Jr.™ debuted as a professional race car driver in 1982 and Al quickly sped off to success by winning the Can-Am Championship in his first season. Al competed in his first Indianapolis 500 in 1983 and finished an impressive 9th for his first-ever start in the event. In the 1985 season of the CART Circut, Al lost the championship by one point to none other than his own father!
The rest of the 1980s were successful for Al, who became the youngest-ever IROC Championship winner in 1986. Unser also won the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1986 and 1987. In 1989 Al was ready to grasp his first-ever Indianapolis 500 win, but a bump with Emerson Fittipaldi caused Al to spin out and Emerson won the race under a Caution Flag. Al didn't let that deter him though as he won the Indianapolis 500 in 1992 and 1994. Al won ABC's Wide World of Sports Athlete of the Year in 1994 in part due to his Indy 500 win and winning eight of 16 races of the season.
Al retired from racing in 2009 and was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame in the same year. He was also inducted into the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame in 2007. Al released his memoir "Al Unser Jr.™: A Checkered Past" in 2021. Included with the textbooks for this course you will receive Al's book...autographed!

I started my own business in the Motorsports world hoping I could figure it out as I went. I did that for a while but needed another boost. As introverted as I am, I needed a push for networking in particular. SMWW gave me that push! With the focus of the class on networking within the industry, it made it easier to bring it into the real world. The class brought different aspects and a better understanding of the motorsports industry as a whole. I received some validation that what I was doing in my current business was the way that it was done which gave me more confidence in going out on my own. I would highly recommend this class for anyone who has a passion for motorsports. It doesn't matter if you know what you want to do within the industry, or if you are just exploring options!

This course was perfect for me since I did not know much about the motorsports industry, knowing how it works is amazing. Being guided by Al Unser Jr and Maikel, two people within the industry, allowed me to understand the industry better, I would totally recommend taking it!
