The development of soccer players starts at a younger and younger age each year, which means the need to identify players who can be the next super-stars is always growing. Youth Academies are the lifeblood of a club and their impacts can be felt for decades at the First-Team level.
FC Barcelona’s La Masia, Athletic Bilbao’s Cantera, Ajax Youth Team, and Philadelphia Union’s Academy, are all prime examples of the power to identify young talent and develop them into stars.
At SMWW, you'll learn how to identify the rising soccer stars of tomorrow!
Led by Real Salt Lake West Coast Scout Matt Martin, our 8-week online course is a one-of-a-kind experience to learn the art of identifying soccer talent.
Unlike most online classes, we focus our program on interactive Zoom video chats directly with Matt Martin and fellow students, which allows you the opportunity to build personal relationships and rapport with these successful soccer industry leaders. After completing our Soccer Player Development course, we will help you redesign your resume to highlight your new skills and include that you have been taught first-hand by Matt Martin. Now that is powerful!
Here is what you can look forward to learning about over the eight weeks in our course!

Matt scouts for Real Salt Lake Academy & Real Monarchs after completing a very successful stint scouting for Columbus Crew Academy recruiting to set of unique profiles for the reigning MLS Cup Champions.
For the last two years Matt has also scouted for Valencia CF's North American Academy located in Rigaud, near Montreal, Quebec staffed by the Spanish Developmental Giants. Matt and the Soccer Syndicate have also connected with the Valencia, Spain-based Development Academy, Eture Sports & Eture FC to leverage an exciting developmental pathway. In addition to live scouting the highest levels in MLS and Europe Matt digs deep at the regional levels of MLSNext, ECNL, NPL & USYS on the West Coast.
Matt co-founded The Soccer Syndicate with Joey Yusunas and Scott Rezendes. The Syndicate provides a wide array of scouting services, including player ID U12 - U23, college draft, USL, and MLSNext Pro. Dr. Lynn Lashbrook, the president and founder of SMWW, has over 40 years of combined experience as a Sports Agent, Educator, Coach, Scout, and NCAA Athletic Director. Dr. Lashbrook manages the SMWW Agency representing over 200 Agent Advisors and athletes worldwide including EPL and MLS clients. Lynn led the Oregon lobbying efforts that resulted in a $150 million construction bill for a new stadium in Portland.
